yes, but as Northwich dont own the ground, they cant expand it. all i ever keep getting is that the club would love to expand the ground, but we would like to remind you that we dont own it.

and board ultimatums never work. after leading Hyde to 3 promotions in 5 seasons i demanded better training facilities and got the sack, the ungrateful gits!

There were stadium restrictions in 06. Sadly they only worked for top flight leagues.

Expect a huuuge expansion if you ever make it to the Premier.

When I got to the Premier, my stadium had a capacity of 3,500. The board then expanded it to 13,850 (but this didn't happen till half-way through that first season), still below Nobby's stated Premier minimum.

I remember reading somewhere (by Miles/Graham, or someone) that in '06 the game won't ever stop you from attaining a league due to ground restrictions.

I asked about it for the new version and never got an answer. I'd like to see it implemented. When I took my currnet Worcester City club to the prem I never got a major expansion. It's been a thousand here, two thousand there, and still has terrace seating.

What needs to be correctly implemented to fix this is stadium moves.

If a club is not the owner of the stadium, and needs a capacity of xxxx to reach a certain league level, there are only two things that might be realistic:

- Building a new stadium: That would prevent you from being promoted by the first time you achieved a promotion spot, but you should not have problems to further expand your stadium, when needed.

- The team "renting" another stadium, from another club. That's something I'd like to see. This could have some good implications, like less supporters if your rented stadium is not very close to your city. Also, this could be done as an alternative to the first case. While yur shiny new groung is being built, your team rents a stadium that reaches league's standards.

well, in answer to one of my questions, stadium size doesnt matter in Europe, a crowd of 2494 watched Northwich Victoria beat Lefski Sofia 4-0 :-)

Well, promotion to the Premier League has seen my board spend most of my TV cash on putting 8500 more seats in the South Stand to take ground capacity up to 15,400 on completion.

The rest of the TV cash paid off our debt that had been building up in the Championship.

Fantastic, now to go into debt again.
