I've been playing saved games almost exclusively in the Segunda B for some time now. It's too bad you couldn't have made a breakthrough by now. Usually you can begin to do so by your third season, but it can be tough if your reputation and finances are stuck in mediocrity, which can easily be the case.

2008/09

It looks as though "brick on brick" improvement may be the way forward.

A finish of 8th, P38 W15 D9 L14 F61 A66 PTS54, is the best yet and I seem to have unearthed a couple of decent youngsters from my under 18s, a DC and a ST who have strengthened the spine of the team. My biggest dilemma is when to award the DC the captaincy.

Mind you, looking back in the cold light of day, having been dicked 6-4 in the first game by Las Palmas a top half finish was pleasing.

Again, however, we were 18 points off the promotion playoff spots so still a chunk of work to do.

Highlights were 4 wins on the bounce through the Christmas period, lowlight was 1 win in 11 in the run in as we tailed off once more.

2009/10

Another season of same old same old.

11th P38 W13 D11 L14 F63 A67 PTS50.

A massive 31 points from the promotion playoffs as Cadiz, Las Palmas, Rayo, and Xerez lose just 19 games between them.

12 points above the relegation playoff shows promise.

On the plus side, my 3 top centre halves are all 18 so the future looks bright.

My Gordon Brownesque financial prudence is freeing up funds so I am hopeful for a step up next year.

My ever helpful board still won't improve my training faciltiies!

You need to offer you players incentives to play well as they get tired at the end of the season. If your cash situation is okay why don't you offer them a free all expenses paid trip to Lanzarote ...KUTGW

Forgot Dorada, which tastes great in Lanzarote, but would probably taste like horsep*ss if you drunk it over here.

2010/11

Better season.

P38 W19 D8 L11 F66 A49 PTS65

A 5th place finish just 4 points behind Extremadura in the final playoff spot left me agonisingly close to a first ever playoff spot. Sadly my last 2 games were against Getafe (very strong in 3rd place) and runaway leaders Xerez, both ended in losses so I was foiled at the last but I am really encouraged.

I seem to be attracting a slightly better class of player and for the first time in 4 years have a different top scorer.

A 60k summer buy from B3 side Novelda has blossomed, with sky rocketing stats and a deadly eye for goal, his value has increased by over 1100%

Cup news: Eased through to the 2nd round of the cup before being humped 5-2 by Albacete, who cruised to the B3 title.

My Under 18s stormed to the title losing only one game all year \0/ Fantastic humping of Coruxo 9-0 featured 8 goals from lads that have played a big part in the firsts already.

Anywhores, onwards and upwards (hopefully).
