I've been a lurker in this forum for a long time, and i've always enjoyed the LLM way of playing. Sorta started with my Kingstonian side back in CM3 I think.
Anyways, long ago I started with Weymouth, and as it is I'm in the 2012/2013 season, and I've sorta been itching to tell you about it since I enjoy reading the other stories here. So here's the first 3 seasons!
2005/2006, Conference South
Board wanted mid-table, fans wanted the same.
£0 in transfer budget meant I had to bring in some young freebies. Needed reinforce the middle of everything, CB's, MC's and possibly a striker or 2. Brought in 9 players for £2k after I sold 5 for £27k.
The team already had 4 quite excellent wingers so there was goalchances in abundance, sadly I lacked the striker who could put them all away. We walked the league anyway though in very superior fashion:
Final position: 1st in the Conference South. FA Trophy: Winners. FA Cup: Knocked out in first round.
Top goalscorer: Winger/Striker with 23 goals.
Fans Player of the Year: Winger/Striker with 23 goals.
2006/2007 Conference National
Board wanted us to battle bravely against relegation, as did the fans. £0 as a transfer kitty, more freebies.13 players in for £7k, uncluding a promising AMC and an amazing schoolboy from Scotland who was only 15 so he wouldn't be able to play until half the season was gone, sadly. He was better than any of the strikers I had already Shrewd sales earned me £575k at the end of the season, uncluding some of our amazing wingers whom we got offers for, we just couldn't turn down.
Largely thanks to our new AMC bosman signing from Aston Villa, we walked the league.Just not in as superior fashion as we did last year. Also Scottie McYoungblood as I will hereby refer to when it comes to the Scottish schoolboy, debuted on his 16th birthday and scored 16 goals in 21 games in the one half of the season he managed to play. Bah gawd he had potential!
Final position: 1st in the Conference National. FA Trophy: Knocked out in semi-finals. FA Cup: Knocked out in the second round.Bah gawd 1 round from a big pay-day!
Top Goalscorer: AMC with 23 goals.
Fans Player of the Year: AMC with 23 goals.
2007/2008, League 2
Board expected us to battle bravely against relegation, as did the fans. Transferkitty at £22k, luckily I had a few very decent bosman's coming in. Signed 5 players this season for £36k in total. The 1 goalie we signed costing us £35k of those £36k 13 players sold this season which brought in £360k, including the Fans Player of the Year from the first season.
This season was somewhat harder, but Scottie McYoungblood was on fire the entire season so we got promoted once again.
Final position: 1st in League 2. LDV Vans Trophy: Knocked out in second round. League Cup: Knocked out in 4th round. FA Cup: Knocked out in the 3rd round.
I got mauled 4-0 by Premier League leaders Bolton away But Hey! I got my big payday!
Top goalscorer: Scottie McYoungblood with 37 goals.
Fans Player of the Year: Scottie McYoungblood.
This season I recieved several £1m offers for 16 year old Scottie McYoungblood from Premier League teams, but I had to refuse them, he's the future, and he's just too damn good. Luckily he's got me as fave personel, and Weymouth as fave club. So he didn't even flinch when I turned down Tottenham 3 times and Liverpool twice.

Mmmm... Weymouth or not... three consecutive championships? Mmmmm... :chinrub:
I started this game long ago, and at the time I had no idea Weymouth were considered all that. And to be honest they aren't all that later on. I've got no money and absolutely no room for wages. The 3 first seasons my wage-budget moved £500 in the right direction

Didn't they just try to sign him and pay the tribunal fee? Buggy AI if they didn't.

I though that odd, too. Why would they offer you £1m when they could have him for £50k or so in compo?
His value was £1.2m, so they kept bidding £1m for whatever reason. I was terrified that they might snatch him away by just trying to sign him. Luckily by late December he turned 17 so it wasn't an issue anymore.
