2010/2011 Premier League.
The Weymouth board expected a brave battle against relegation, as did the fans. I had a expected a large transfer kitty this season due to Tv-revenue and such. Sadly that wouldn't be the case since most money was spent expanding the stadium with 12000 seats and upgrading our training facilities to Youth Academy! Wooo! Still, I had a transfer kitty of £1.5m. During the preseason Blackburn Rovers finally released a goalkeeper I had been tracking for 2-3 years, on a free. He was snapped up. This kid had an England future with a little luck. As for the £1.5m, well I sent my scouts out to find a decent striker to partner Scottie up front, hopefully with a sweet left foot. Lo and behold, former Everton player and Scottish international was found in the Blackburn Reserves and was snapped up for a structured deal worth £1.5m in all. 17 players was snapped up, mostly schoolboys for my U18 team, all in all it cost us £2.6m. 18 players went the other way for £1.6m in all.
The team was somewhat solid, but I figured we would struggle against some of the bigger teams, if not all of them. Still, the players I added the previous season was, with a little faith, premier league quality. This was the season that the weakness in my previously so successful tactic was exposed. Against the smaller teams in the Premier League I won as expected, but I got absolutely hammered against the top teams. Playing against the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Everton was a bloody nightmare. About halfway through I changed my system for the first time, adding a sorely needed defender to defense at the cost of the AMC, which did help shore up a very leaky defense. Still, by all accounts it was a good season, if not a season of total mediocrity. There was some success though as I landed the FA-Cup for the first time despite facing horror teams such as previous winner, champion, and Champion's League winner Chelsea on the way to the final. Luckily their first choice was injured a few games before our tie, and they resorted to playing their second choice goalkeeper in his spot, who, I kid you not, was 16 years old and couldn't get in a conference team. I won 2-1 after extra time in the replay. The semi-final landed us Manchester United, whom since hiring a new manager half-way through the season was on a 25 game unbeaten run where they only had conceded 1 goal  I can't really explain what happened. But we had 6 chances the entire game against their 32 chances. In the end we won 6-3. In the final Liverpool, who had already been crowned champions, waited. After an even first half, and me getting totally out-played in the second half, I still had the satisfaction of scoring all 3 goals in our 2-1 victory over them.
Final Position: 10th in the Premier League. League Cup: Knocked out in the Semi Final by Chelsea. FA Cup: Winners, beating Liverpool 2-1 in the final.
Top goalscorer: Scottie McYoungblood with 50 goals, including 39 goals in 37 league games
Fans Player of the Year: Scottie McYoungblood.
Together with Liverpool we had the best strikeforce of the season, scoring 78 goals, sadly we also shared the worst defense in the league with the 3 teams who got relegated

Still trying to shore up our defense, luckily we recieved £5m added transfer kitty in January which was spent on a Danish defender from Liverpool who would fit perfectly into the new defense. He wouldn't arrive until pre-season though.
Interesting tid-bits; Scottie earned his first cap this season. I played Chelsea a total of 5 times this season, 2 in the league, twice in the FA Cup and once in the League Cup. Also Mr Posh retired from playing at Real Madrid and walked right into management at, you guessed it......
