Cherrn, welcome to the LLM forum.
As you may have noticed, LLaMas are very suspicious of people who have incredible success, seemingly beyond any realistic expectations.
What we'd like to establish is whether you have achieved this success entirely with your own knowledge or if you have used 'tips' from elsewhere (e.g. tactics/training/player tips) or even worse, used an Ed*t*r or Scouting program. Be honest - have you?
If the former is true, then I guess you're already beginning to realise two things: That Weymouth were probably not challenging enough for you, and that LLaMas aren't overimpressed with promotions that come too easily.
If the latter is true (any part of it) then... may Nobby have mercy on your soul.
If you want my advice, start again with a new team and be a bit more rubbish |
Thanks for the welcome
As for your questions, yes my success is based on my own knowledge. One of my favourite aspects of the game is to design my own tactic, sorta have a basic outline and work on it from there. As it is the tactic I came up with was incredibly succesful for lower league football because it produced huge amounts of chances at the cost of a poor defense. The poor defense wasn't so much an issue in lower leagues because generally my opposition lacked the skill to take advantage of it. Sadly, as shown by how I did in the Championship, despite being promoted I conceded 78 goals, and it hasn't proven different in the Premier League. So as it is know I am trying to stabilise it, working around the problem, yet still keeping the essence of the tactic I made up in the beginning. I'm fine-tuning it, if you will

As for training and tips and player tips and so on. No, my understanding of the training system isn't sufficient so it's placed on default. I know how to train a player to play in another system, that's about it

And regarding playertips, no, I stick to what my scout sends my way. To be honest it's a lot more fun that way instead of bragging about G. Oalscoring Extreme that you've just signed who scored 170 goals for you in one season. Where's the achievement in it if he's done the exact same thing for all the other guys who've heard about him and found him in a forum ?
I don't use outside add-ons because stuff like that kills the fun. And to be honest it's just downright cheating. Sure playing a game like Doom is fun when you're unvulnerable, but you haven't played that game until you've beaten it without cheating, that's the real essence of fun. As for using an editor, no, just no. I have a chronic fear of using the editor due to me adding myself to the game long ago, must've been Cm3, and eventually losing a very long save-file because I messed up. It wasn't all that fun, even if it did bring a smile to my face seeing myself spending my entire career in the Hjørring reserves. So editor is a huge no-no for me.
I have realised that some promotions came more easily than I expected them to, and I have had the notion of starting with another team in either France or Italy, but there's one thing about this save-file that's keeping me from it. It's what I enjoy the most about FM.
It's basically having that young player, your own, one you've trained, rise through the ranks, improving, getting better and better, and really see how far he's gonna go. It's like that with Scottie McYoungblood and one of my midfielders who've basically played since the conference national. They're the sort of youngsters I've dreamt about would come through my youth system, every single time I've played FM/CM. 2 schoolboys I had to put in the team when they turned 16 because they were basically better than the rest. I just love to see how they develop over time. I guess I'm just weird, but I must admit I was sorta proud when Scottie got called up for the Scotland team and earned his first cap. It's stuff like that that I play for.
