First up, I love Football Mangaer 08 and don't have a great deal to say about it that is negative.
Second, i'm not that good at this game, i'm a middling player.
BUT, my first season of my second game I took charge of Celtic and had an absolute blinder. I won the treble and made the FINAL of the champions league, eliminating Man U (0-0 2-0), Roma (2-3, 1-2) and Poro (1-0, 0-0) on the way to the final (a 3-0 loss to Real Madrid).
The crux of my success was striker Scott Macdonald - he was second top scorer and WON the player of the tournament prize. His value improved to more than £4m.
Now, leaving aside the wisdom or not of the decision (got a lot of very good players in the close season) I tried to sell Macdonald that second season. Can't do it. He's rotting in the reserves. Nobody is interested in him at all. I've cut the asking price in half (£2m) and offered him around, no-one is interested.
Bit much? Any idea on how to shift him? European footballs best player he may be, but his value is plumating and nobody wants to sign him!
Have you tried offering him out for monthly insallments? If you spread the offer over 24 months, teams will pay much more. You get the money from the transfer into your budget, so everyone is happy.
Just a moan, but suggestions are welcome
