that's a shame, but since BASIC is/was not assembled before it's executed, shouldn't it be easy to reverse manufacture a copy of the game and obtain the source code?

I had an Amstrad CPC464 back in '90, used to write BASIC programs all the time but the most complex I ever got was a "Bustout" bricks-type game.
That was a few thousand lines of code with many a "SYNTAX ERROR" popping up.
Can't imagine how long a CM would take.
Must have been quite an achievement....

I wrote once a football manager by myself in the early 90ties.

It was comparable with the original football manager but better. Yes, really

It was written in Borland TurboBasic which came with a compiler. The code was fast enough to process the game.

I remember in about 96/7 having to buy a new PC as the 8 MB of Ram I had was not able to run the game with windows open had to boot up in DOS and type in a run command. But could only run one league and the PC could not handle any more Ram.
So went out and spent £1000 on a new PC to be bale to play CM

heh... even though you were given three chances to enter the correct score, if you got it wrong first time, your save game would usually become corrupt.

best bug ever.
