Exactly. Have a look at the game and see what was going on before you declare it to be unrealistic. Generally, if my tactic isn't behaving as expected I will switch to watching the full game for a while to try to figure out why.

I could see your players being confused at your new tactical approach, especially if you're trying to teach it to them while they're in the middle of playing a match.

Usually there's a news item criticising the manager when he tries a new tactic for a match that the team has never seen before.

Honest the absolutley worst thing you can do last 20 minutes in a game that you're favourite to win is do what you just did. Cue a lot of aimless balls into the box cleared easily by anyone on the oppo. Maybe your mistake was prematch. I bet you were telling the press you were gonna stuff em and told your boys I expect a win?
