i dont think peter taylor has a 'local' rep now hes managing stevenage, do you......
What reputation did you start the game with?

Why?

As some posters already posted here, they got a job after starting unemployed. So why the need for the full patch?

In my FM07 game i got offered a job at Scarborough Feb 2008 when they were in the relegation zone in Conference North, had points deducted because of administration, and in that season, with 3 months to spare, got them promoted by playoffs, and then in consecutive seasons got them from conference national to league 2 to league 1.

Yet a "talented manager" like me got no reward, so i resigned and still no one seemed to care, apart from conference sides.

i just hope that they've sorted it out because thats so unrealistic it makes me sick, and i cant be arsed going though it all again!

I mean, i know some people are content with picking thier favourite side and going straight into management, but i just prefer doing it more realistically and making my way up the ladder, and for a game that claims to be the most realistic football management sim, it fails badly. Well it did in 07, hence why im asking if its happened in 08 to anyone.

I got a job in March of the first season with Hucknall Town without a patch.

I think he means that before starting a "long term game" you should wait for the patch (because it will hopefully iron out any long term issues in the game), not that you cant get a job if you start unemployed now (I've done it twice, both pre and post patch(both games discarded due to current issues))
