Hi, Ive got a user on my community that claims that it is illegal to copy a language from the demo in - this case danish - over to the full game directory, is it tue? And is it true to make any modification on the game?

Why should this be illegal? Does anyone own the Danish language - besides Pia Kjærsgaard apparently...

Technically, you shouldn't do it without permission of the copyright holder.

It's hardly crime of the century is it. Putting a language file from a freely available demo in to a game you paid for. I can't see you getting a criminal record for that.

I was just about to say the same. If you bought a copy of the game and your're promised X language and the X language somehow is missing or whatever - is not the crime of the century. But the law is the law and we have to respect that...

But would it not be the same if you where configuring, lets say some graphics, then youre also editing the code within right? But on this forum there a place to talk about the way to make graphics.. So Im a bit lost

if you just did it without asking, noone would know you are breaking some law.

its not like your government or law enforcement agency is running FM language file checks.. :o

No, in no way it is illegal. Changing languages using a file is a feature of the game. The file in question was obtained legally. If SI were against this they would disable this feature (which is trivial).
