Hi all, I've just signed a player on a free and thought "What a signing! This guy must be the complete player!". Naturally, he is the complete player and as such is a selfish git as a result. Anyway, here's a screenie of his stats. The ones you can't see are technique 15 and work rate 10.

Agreed, this guy is at least a VERY good player?

Well my coaches disagree, Quieroz says this:
Playing near to potential... only three stars?!

Three stars?! Ignore the fact that he's my sixth best striker, as this includes Klose and Toni (33 and 34 y/o respectively)but three stars? Can anyone point out to me why this guy isn't like 5 stars?

The stars a coach/scout give are pased upon club standard. I believe 4 stars is club standard, whilst three is just below the standard.

TBH, the player doesn't look that special. He's good, but I don't think many top clubs would play him as their first choice striker. Three stars seems pretty fair to me.

If your team is really great then your coaches should have exacting standards. If he is being compared to proven world beaters then his poor teamwork will see him marked down.
The point being that the stars represent the ratio of quality between the player and team. Not just the quality of the player.

Seems right to me. He's got some good stats but his decisions, positioning and teamwork let him down. Stamina isn't great either.

Looks like he would run hot and cold....and you wouldn't have much conrol over which one on which day.

Maybe it's one of the hidden attributes like performing on big matchdays.

Why don't you play him and see what you get? World class players don't become world class players until they have been given the opportunity.

I understand the star system but he appears to be so damned good. He is an awesome target man, be in running onto the ball or when it's pumped up to his head.

I've played him 5 time so far, so far he's been exclusively hot, scoring 8 goals but bagging no assists (predictably). However, he is usually the start of a nice move.

Eg; ball gets played forward (air or floor, doesn't matter ) he then passes it off, pulls a defender away, his co-striker fills the gap and whoever he's passed to gets the assist.

TBH he's perfectly replaced Klose who's been my player of the year every year, so why only 3 stars?
