It is 2013/14 and I'm Everton - I won the bloody thing last year and finished 5th! I'm very ****ed off.

I dunno, bug of the game? Does the holder maybe bypass the first round and go to the group stages? I'm not listed in the teams and have been drawn in teh second round of the League Cup.

According to this you should be in the group stage:
(From UEFA)

The UEFA Champions League title-holder is guaranteed a place in the group
stage even if it does not qualify for the competition through its domestic
championship.
a) If the title-holder comes from an association entitled to more than one
place in the UEFA Champions League and qualifies for the UEFA Cup
through its domestic competitions, the lowest-ranked club of the
association’s UEFA Champions League representatives is automatically
transferred to the UEFA Cup. In this case, the number of places to which
the title-holder's national association is entitled in the UEFA Champions
League and the UEFA Cup does not change.

It's not the Champions League it's the UEFA Cup. Financially I'm screwed, need that revenue.

There is a 1st and 2nd "qualifying round" before the first round(which is where you should appear).

It's a bug I think. Even if you didn't win the UEFA Cup, you should be in on the basis of your 5th place in the league.
