...considering that I'm Rochdale in league 2 and they're in 16th the championship. But they're not giving me any money to spend, and I think I have a real crack at the play offs/promotion this year. I don't know if this is programmed into the game but I reckon they want a cheap, stop gap manager too. Plus my contract at Rochdale is up at the end of the season, if I wanted to leave then I could and still get a good job offer, right? Right???

Depends. Sometimes you'll find a higher division team are so constrained by loan debts and other financial problems that progression is close to impossible.

If there's no budget to spend, it could indicate that - see what the debts are listed as on the club info screen and compare the wage budget to what the club appear to be actually paying at present. Then you can judge better as to whether the problem is short or long-term.

Leaving Rochdale at the end of the season would depend on your managerial reputation. Should be fine if it's national, more risky if not though.
