Hi, I have an AMD X2 CPU and a couple of gigs of DDR 800 (6400).
I enabled threading in preferences and expected to see bursts of 100% CPU optimisation during the arithmetic and fpu stuff when the game engine is calculating events ..
Only it doesn't ever top 55%, occassionally 60%.
At first I thought this might be purely because the engine is bottlenecked elsewhere, but I have hardware raid the game couldn't possibly be saturating.
So it occurs to me that its darn odd how the game will happily sit at 100% cpu on a uniprocessor system but on dual core/smp it doesn't seem to get over the single core ..
Can I execute the game in such a manner as to force it to use many more threads? Such as when passing compiler time options to GCC e.g.
Can someone at S.I. help me out?
As it is, the game doesn't run much quicker on my server rig as it does on an old P4 Northwood desktop I have kicking around ..
Not enough threads to saturate the processor/s anyway ...

Well, no it's not really. My Quad Core system will be built soon and I was expecting to see great differences in speed but if it doesn't even utilise a dual core, then I won't be too happy. Roll on Crysis!
