The game is a disgrace. SI should return the money to everyone that purchased it. This game isn't fit to be freeware.
I am in 2009 in a game managing Canada with the MLS running. In September the New York job becomes available and I take it. I do good and get them to the MLS final. I also had an international with Canada coming up and the USA team had an international coming up. So I check what day the final is but it hasn't been drawn. First off why does a final have to be drawn? Its just 2 teams left? It should have happened immediately after the semi finals. Anyway so I check the schedule and that calendar thing comes up and the 15th is highlighted and i put my mouse over it to get the tooltip and it says MLS Final. Well that means it is OK to call up my Canadian players from New York and also I can allow my 2 stars playing for the USA NT to go play in the friendly. However it turns out that is when the final is drawn and not when the final is. So then I dont have 5 first team players for the MLS final including my 1st choice goalkeeper who is with the USA NT. So I have to play with my 2nd choice goalkeeper who is the 2nd worst player in my squad, after my 3rd choice goalkeeper. The guy is hopeless TBH. Anyway there is no need to mention all the game engine bugs with one on ones and other things which affected this since they are well known. But Dallas have 4 shots on goal and they scored 3 of them and my GK gets a 6 rating for saving 1 shot and letting in 3 goals. That is a disgrace SI. They are just trying to make human controlled team's goalkeepers look better by giving them better ratings. I lose 3-2 in the final because I didnt have my 5 first choice players. I was leading 2-0 and they make a remarkable come back. My team gave 2 penalties, only 1 was converted by the opositon. I dont remember the last time I gave 1 penalty let alone 2. Surely AI cheating?
Now apart from that, next comes the confidence problems. I done a brilliant job in a couple of months of managing the team and they dont want to give me a new contract. I can see where the problem is. Since I came in after the season started I am not being judged for my MLS performance where I done brilliantly. But for some reason I am being judged for the teams poor performance in getting eliminated from the US Cup even thought they were eliminated before I joined. I have been a top manager at New York and they should be begging me to stay.
Now another thing which may be a bug, for some reason my designated player counts to the salary cap, when they shouldn't. Maybe it is because I gave them designated player halfway through the season.
I will complain if I want because I amde good money for a broken game. Sounds like you pirated the game. Otherwise you would be complaining at getting ripped off as well.
Anyway I traded off New yorks players for crap players since they weren't going to give me a new contract...but then they did. So I rejected it and took a job at Chicago instead and changed there crap team into the best team in the league after a very busy off season. Now time to walk the league.
