Okay - I've made a big mistake. Saved my game at the end of a session when I'd been offered a job overseas. Didn't really want it, but was curious, so agreed to accept the job at the end of the season, after saving, and then put the game in holiday mode thinking I could come back after I'd taken over and see what the club looked like.

Problem was, whilst in holiday mode, the game automatically saved over my 3 save games every hour. Whilst the oldest of the saves still has me with my old club, it contains agreement that I will take over at the new club at the end of the year.

Is there any save game editor that will allow me to remove the flag that says I have agreed to take over another club at the end of the season? I don't want to move to Belgium...

No, not possible I'm afraid.

Best you can hope for is to use your oldest saved game file, move to Belgium as agreed and then apply for the vacant post at your current club. They are highly unlikely to accept you back.

You could do as White Flag said, but use the FMM to add yourself as a favourite person at the club your about to leave. Also add yourself as a favourite of the chairman. That'll boost your chances of getting the job back.

Word of warning if you do what grff suggests (and this suggestion may work), but editing your own record in FMM causes an error in Genie Scout and it will no longer load.

What do you mean, editing what in your record. I thought Genie only reads the data, so what causes the problem and is it a problem known to Genie.

Just want to know so I dont make the mistake.

Sorry for sounding vague, but I've found in past games that editing my own record in FMM results in a load error message in Genie so I now steer well clear of amending myself and no longer have any problems.

I do not recall this issue being mentioned on the Genie thread so perhaps it is just me. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has encountered this problem.
