Haven't got the game yet, didn't even know it was out until I read the forums... Sad that the editor isn't "finished" yet, as I then have to wait to start a career too.

What I always do with the editor, hope this is possible now or at later stages:

1. Add every city in Norway, with correct longitude, altitude, citizens etc.
2. Add/Alter/Change kit colours for clubs.
3. Add/Alter/Change stadiums
4. Future Stadiums.
5. Add teams, players and some staff.
6. Correct the history part, Norwegian premier division history, cup history etc - always been a few errors here (Don't know if it still is though)
7. Relegate, promote teams so I can start in 2007 season (Norway) - for all playable divisions.
8. Lots of other stuff; I actually don't think I would have played the game at all if it wasn't possible to edit. Small errors just annoys me too much. Incorrect names, colours etc.

But anyway, the FM2006 editor used quite a bit CPU - so I guess an improvement is for the better, too bad we have to wait until we can do everything we could with the previous editor though.

Off-topic: a norwegian international player named Frode Johnsen moved to Japanese leage this winter, does he then disappear from the database? And I would have to create him from scratch again?

Ah well I'm in a better mood today. I have to agree that this editor will be a major improvement when it's completed. But there is one thing I wish that you at SI could implement in the editor if it's possible.

Since me and my friends are making updates for the game there is a feature that would make it dozens if times easier for peaople cooperating when it comes to updating. I think it has been requested before FM 2005 (maybe I did, donæt remember).

What I wish could be implemented is the possibility to exctract and imports parts of the database. F.ex I always update the Norwegian league and the other of the gang updates other things. The way it's now we have to do it one by one, first I do the Norwegian update, then I email the DB to the next person who does his work and then email further.

If it was possible f.ex to exctract the data that one person have updated (staff, clubs, cities etc). Everyone could work on the database at the same time, and when finnished collected the exctracts and imported it to the DB. This would save a lot of time updating, and I'm pretty sure the unofficial updates on the scene would be ten times better.

So the question for you at SI is it possible to implement this in the future, and if it's possible, is it likely to happen?

And, by the way will it also be possible to edit feeder clubs, in the editor? I think it should be becasue there is a lot of errors in the game. It seems like some clubs that has a good relationship without any formal agreement, is mistaken for beein feeder or parent clubs. F.ex PSV is not a feeder club for Chelsea they just have a good relation and therefor co-own Alex. Another excample is Man Utd and Sporting Lisboa, their contract ended last summer, but they still have a very good relationship.

No kit colour changing :/ :/ :/

St. Mirren's first kit is white and black stripes and their away kit is all black, they basically force every team to wear their away kit at home when they play them. Much worse in the last one though, Dundee, St Johnstone, Kilmarnock and Ross County all had useless away kits that clashed with own home one.

Im trying to change Aston Villas balance. I have tried many times but it's always the same. Saved a database, loaded it on a new game, balance is still low... ive tried a mil, 10 mil, 20 mil etc..

Any ideas?

Me too. I out over a billion in the balance and when the game starts I have around 10 millions.
However, I put a few hundred million for the transfer budget and I get those hundred millions in the game.
You guys at SI think this might be fixed in the next patch?

I understand Vegs points and i think they have been relatvily well made, but i also understand Si's view on the matter.

It is frustrationg though, SI have their own high standards to live upto and to some extent, they have failed. They surely know that the editor is important to a lot of people to make a the game more interesting/customizable etc and realising the editor in what can only be described as a half finished state is somewhat insulting. Ive paid £30 for an unfinished product.

On the other hand though, the actual GAME is ace and they didnt have to release any kind of editing tool, and the fact that the people who actually make the game sit and read their fans opinions says a lot about the company.

So ig uess we gotta pay them their due and just hope they come good soon.

I'm confused though, a friend of mine told me the editor looked better and was easier to use but lacked features. I disagree, I don't think it looks very nice, reminds me of the old CM editors. Not complaining by the way, I still managed to do my usual hour or so of editing.

Looks are always (ok, almost always :p ) a matter of taste, I agree with your friend

I really like the look of the new editor. Its more functional and harks back to the days of CM01/02 which is terrific as I loved the game! But there is one problem which after reading this thread I don't think has cropped up yet, and that is that there doesn't appear to be an option within the editor to edit a player's playing history. Its important to me as there are certain players I would like to add to my database from non league level, I was wondering whether there is a way at this moment to do this and how I've failed to miss it and if not to seek assurances that this will be one of the particular problems alleviated in any future patch?
