Has anyone else noticed the ridiculous asking prices that other teams try to negotiate when you bid for their players? So far I've bid for Anelka, Berbatov and Ashton and have been told I would need to offer 38m, 40m and 29m respectively! So in the game only Chelsea or Man Utd could really hope to buy players of a decent quality! Anyone else having this problem or know a way around it?

Not really.. i got Ashton for 2.5m + 7.5m over 24months + 2.5m for 10 goals..

Lucky you! I struggled to find any decent talent over the age of 21 who was available at a reasonable price, ended up going for Farfan, valued at 3m, cost 13m!

yea i have the same problem man trying to sign ronaldo in my second session but untid r looking 150m r so (dream on lads) also i heard ppl r getn pirlo for 2.5m but i cnt get a offer accpeted under 20m even no he is unhappy at his clu (A.C Milan) transfers in this game annoys me but hey it fm 2008 so that makes up for it lol

There have been some posts regarding high asking prices set by AI teams, & I beleive the overall notion is that you need to keep negotiating & making low bids in order to unsettle the player - at which time you can buy him for a lower price.

Just look at it as a lesson in economics

i think its okay that clubs ask for over inflated prices for their prize talent, you wouldn't sell your best players for their standard value if you didn't have to.

the thing that gets on my nerves is that when clubs accept prices for players from other computer controlled teams of way less than they would ask from you. case in point with Klass Jan Huntelaar, Ajax asked for a deal worth almost £20m when i tried to buy him but sold him to Milan after i bought Menez instead for just £9m. Same with Pandev, im asked to pay in excess of £20m but he goes to Chelsea for just £12m.

Also has anyone else found that when trying to necgociate with clubs they could ask for a deal worth £12m for example and you try and necgociate down to around £10m and they come back with a ridiculous counter offer way in excess of the original figure they started at. I've heard of playing hardball but it just seems a bit bizzare

As far as im concerned the big clubs get well too much money. Especially with this idiotic "adjust budget" idea. Clubs just throw money around.

Finances were an issue I really hoped would get sorted in this game. Alas it was not to be.

He is quality though for anybody wondering...
