Chelsea are nuts. Completely insane, I tells ya!

They now want my Uruguayan striker. They're so desperate they'll offer the Brazilian striker and the N.Irish forward I sold them last January and a 20% of next sale deal.

So that makes a £52.5m + 20% of next deal

I know the lad is the current WC Golden boot, European Golden Boot and premiership top scorer, but that just seems crazy to me.

Pity the ST has already played in the TwoBobs Cup and he'll be cup tied for Europe, but still worth the deal.

We manage to end up 4th in the Premiership, reach quarters in UCL (2-3 agg to Shalke) and beat Leeds (3-0) in the FA Cup final.

Doesn't look that bad, does it? Well, it could have been miles better if we hadn't suffered a non-winning streak of 8 matches which took 7 league matches and the first leg against Shalke in the Champions.

We still managed to get to the exciting last matchday with chances to win the bloody thing (as another 3 teams), but even with Goal difference on our side, we lost away to Manure, whilst Liverpool (), Arsenal ad Tottenham won their matches. So the thing ended with

Liverpool 79pts (+34 GD)
Arsenal 79pts (+31 GD)
Tottenham 78pts (+24 GD)
Workington 76pts (+40 GD)

As you can guess, even though rationally I know it's been a great season, I feel rather gutted. I keep telling myself we lost the league in the bloody 8 matches in which we couldn't even manage to beat two of the three relegated teams, but it feels quite bad to have lost a league like this.

I'm probably going to jynx myself by posting this, but if complacency (or aquaplanning) doesn't kick in we could be in the verge of something.

2024 New Year's day and we're 12 points clear with a game in hand in the league. Breazed the LC to Semis (demolishing Liverpool () 1-5 away and Aston Villa 0-4 away). Also managed to qualify from our CL group of Betis, Fenerbache and Anderlecht only dropping a point. We also spanked Liverpool () in the Community Shield (0-4).

Actually, we've only lost one match all season and it was one of those 25 shots to 1 which end 0-1 against relegation candidates #2 Everton.

It looks like trimming the squad and bringing in some new blood was the way forward (not to mention that we've raised some £65m in sales and only spent £21.5m for replacements).

All this reinforces my thoughts that we lost the league last season (rather than Liverpool () winning it) as there simply isn't a team in Poofland able to cope with my players.

If all goes as planned this could well be my last season at Workington. I'll either retire and start a new save or restart from the bottom after not renewing my contract.

I await the next installment with interest!

In the meantime, I'll watch from behind the sofa.
