North Wales clubs (ok Wrexham) played in the Midlands League rather than the Southern, but thanks for added info dmv - very interesting indeed.
Luke... which band mentioned are your favourites? Marillion - in which case couldn't agree more or Fugazi - in which case I'll play along coz you're helping me out big style
And the bear.... well lets face it normally if someones asking for info on footy results from almost 100 years ago noone gives a flying fig. Bring a fierce looking bear with you and people tend to sit up, take notice and damn well help if they can...

I don't know if this helps (you've probably got it), but I found the Southern League table for 1911/1912 here

There's also a link to Swindon's results for that season too. From there, you can probably go team by team and work out all the results.

I don't have Argyles results to hand anywhere here at home, but I'm certain I can find them out in a day or two.

Thanks for that iamthequinn. Yeah I did have that, but cheers for taking the time. Argyle? Had some great times watching The Dragons (or the Robins as we were then known... jeez genetic manipulation gone mad or what! Must be something in the water..) Well more to the point had some great times AFTER the matches on Union Street  (Gotta put the shades on as I'm getting a hangover just remembering...) It's not easy going out with a Plymouth lass and then going out after the match with her and a group of her Plymouth mates after seeing your team lose 4-1 (and even scoring 2 of Plymouth's goals for them...)

Cheers John - much appreciated. Nice to see you're really busy at work in the mornings! Hell you are I guess, you've just got your priorities sorted no end there!

Unless of course you're a Reading F.C. historian in which case you're definately working...

Thanks for your help.
There is a book called 'Non-League Football tables 1889-2003' which I was given as a present by a fellow football nerd a couple of years ago.

It was published by Soccer Books Limited, whose address is:

72 St Peters Avenue
Cleethorpes
NE Lincolnshire
DN35 8HU

HTTP://www.soccer-books.co.uk or email them via info@soccer-books.co.uk

Essential for toilet reading for any real statto out there!!

Sounds interesting Gripper. Does it contain the results as well or just tables?

I generally get in an hour or so before everyone else, as it minimises the amount of time I have to spend with them!

Wish I could do the same sometimes but never want to be in work for longer than the 12 hour sentence I have to put up with. I appreciate you taking the time for me, cheers.
