Default New LLaMa - new to rules etc but have played non-league before.

Hi guys, seems as though you have a very nice forum here, one which I would like to be part of.

Although having played in lower leagues countless times before I never gave myself any rules in these games, I was vaguely aware of an official forum kind of thing at SI that had specific LLM rules but had never bothered to check.

Now having had a good read through the forum and proper rules of the LLM community I'm happy to say I accept the rules and definately feel they add a degree of realism and challenge to the game, which is most certainly welcomed.

I've just started a game with Lancaster City but don't worry I won't mention anything else and will start my update thread after the required 3 completed seasons.

One question regarding how to play LLM though:

In the rules thread it mentions G.A's Three Rules of Playing LLM which basically were:

1. Choose team, win everything you can, start new game.
2. Choose team, do well, accept bigger jobs and win things.
3. Choose team, do crap, get sacked, get another job and repeat process.

I know this sounds picky but want to make sure I have the rules 100% right if its possible: regarding situation 1., can you choose a team win everything you can but then keep managing them indefinately instead of starting a new game? And regarding point 2., can you do well, take the club as far as you can but then apply for lower reputation jobs in the lowest divisions instead of trying to get higher reputation jobs? As a result you'd become a sort of lower league club rescuer of sorts and just try and build up as many LLM clubs as possible in the same game.

Do the situations I have described above still count as being LLM or are they frowned upon for some reason?

Again, probably just picking at very minor things regarding the questions above but just want to make sure I have the rules 100% understood.

Thanks for your time and see you around!

 We would need more like you about.

To answer your questions:
1. Arsenal board just mention that they are considering on giving their manager life-long contract. So, I would say that you can play with the team for as long as:
a) the board and fans like you
b) you don't get fed up and leave.

2. This was always an elephant gray area. You have to realize that by taking a i.e. conference north club to premiership hights and ebyond does magic to your reputation. Perhaps even rise it to World class or something simillar. So, if you then resign and join another LL club, two things will most definitely happen:
a) your wage will be triple the time of clubs budget and you would be financialy killing it IRL. not in FM, since managers pay is not included in the finances. But you see my point.
b) you would attract players to the club that are way above the level you are in with no problem, and thus make a club unrealisticly strong for the level.
I never been in that kind of situation myself , but some of the regulars here, when they reach the point, retire themselves and start as a new manager in the LL.

What? Manager wages aren't included in the actual finances?!? I let Elgin City get away with paying me £130/wk after I had them solidly in the First Division, banging on the SPL door... and a £800/wk wage wouldn't have affected finances one bit?!?!one1

Cheers for the welcome lads.

Kovalenkov - I see your point about it being a bit unrealistic about dropping down the leagues after having enhanced your reputation so much, should you get into such a position.

However, regarding the life long, indefinate managing of a club I think I'd be willing to do that in my games, should I get myself into that kind of situation.

Now, back to my relegation battle, such good fun, see you lads around the forum.
