Default The French Revolution?

Hello!

I have been managing a newly-promoted team in the French National. It's been a heck of a journey so far, and I want to share my stories with you!

Season 2005/06

Team: Boulogne-sur-Mer
Media Prediction: Relegation Battlers

I started the job, as I have already been to Boulogne and loved it. The first game in charge was against Caen of the Second Division, lost 1-0. I didn't start the season well either, well the first two games actually, losing 3-0 and 2-1. This got better as from there I went eleven games unbeaten, winning 8. I was trailing behind the front 3 (Niort, Angers and Cannes) most of season. After an amazing performance against Niort winning 4-2, we went to finish 3rd, snatching the spot from rivals Cannes on the last day of the season.

Season 2006/07

Team: Boulogne-sur-Mer
Media Prediction: Relegation Battlers (again!)

The board offered me a new contract in the summer after the World Cup, won by Spain. Jobs were offered to me from Reims, Cannes and Sannois SG.

The start of the season started tough, losing 5-0 to a dominiant Lorient team. I went into a losing streak, lasting 12 games. Bottom of the table with only 12 points, I made some big changes in the squad, with a massive transfer kitty of 1.6M. I bought a player from Lyon, and my first-choice goalkeeper was left out of the squad, choosing a new goalkeeper on loan. We changed the season around. But, sadly, we went down when battlers Niort won 3-1 on the last day, and sent me down, although I beat Lorient 2-1.

Season 2007/08

Media Prediction: Promotion Contenders

Starting in the National again, I played Lyon in a friendly, losing 3-0. I lost around 3 players during the summer, two going to England and one to Spain. This was a season which I was looking forward to. A terrific start saw my top scorer for the club score 14 goals in 10 matches. But, Cannes thrashed me 6-1 to knock me off track. We didn't win for another 8 games! We finished top, though. Finishing 10 points ahead of Vannes, we went up. My cup run wasn't bad either, eventually going out to Ligue 1 side Marseille 1-0.

Season 2008/09

Media Prediction: Mid-table

The season wasn't very good, as I failed to sign any of my twelve targets during the summer, so I had to stick to youths coming through the ranks. Not the best start, losing 1-0 to Niort. But, it was a minor shine on the team, as we won 3 games on the trot. Too bad it didn't continue. Amazingly, we survived, and did a Portsmouth, winnig 4 out 6 games to finish above the relegation zone. The only doubt was my star midfielder suffered a knee injury, and would miss the first 4 months of the new season.
