I hired a chap called Grayson to be my asst manager at Barrow for £50 for a one year contract. He has fantastic stats for the money that he was happy to take. One month later, Watford bought him and compensated me with a paltry £3000. Is there anything that I can do to stop this happening again? I tried to offer Grayson more but Barrow would only offer £55pw even though I have increased their coffers from £30,000 to £600,000 in 2 seasons! Talk about thanks eh?

I would rather have Grayson back, I didn't even see him manage a competitive game.

Have a read up at the top of the forum where is says that we don't do tipping.

What I will say is that it is common in FM for your backroom staff to be poached when you are in the lower divisions.

And I'd bugger off at the first opportunity if you were only paying me £50 a year.

Trolling? That sounds harsh to me.

If we can't discuss the pitfalls of having our staff poached and how we can get around the problem then what is the point of the forum?

I wasn't after a tip or a name or a cheat, I was after a way of getting FM2006 to allow me to offer more money to my staff so they will stay. The offer a new conract had a ceiling offer of £55, is that it? The point that they won't stay on £50pw has already been raised.

Losing your staff is part of life. You learn to live with it.

Asking someone how to get the game to do something I'd count as a tip.

The only way to increase what the board will allow you pay out is to increase the money you bring in. How you do that is up to you.
