I`m managing a newly promoted club in the 2nd layer of the Russian league. We are doing suprisingly well (almost no thanks to me acctually) sitting in the 4th place despite being projected as relegation battlers. We have an obscure reputation and fairly basic training facilities. And oh yeah, we are from the middle of Siberia. So I totaly can see how this club isn`t going to be a prime destination for any star and most decent players. However I can`t sign anyone at all. I can target a player from a Russian club that is placed lower than the 2 active divisions of an unknown reputation, I offer him 5 times his current pay and he flatly rejects (And says he ain`t interested in a move during a negoation screen already anyway). This is a bit strange to me since I have no problems signing staff and also I see other obscure and unknown clubs are making signings.
Any suggestions? Offering them ridicilously high signing fees? Finding a very poor country players are dying to get out of? Something else?
Playing for a few seasons improving reputation isn`t going to work. I have some players that are the only players trained any on certain positions leaving soon (can`t prolong their contracts as I can`t afford to pay their wage and/or the board won`t allow me to offer what they demand) and need replacements urgently.
Suggestions, hints or tips? Nope, not in here I'm afraid. Empathy and sympathy, in bucketloads.
I, and others, have had problems when playing with a Db less than Huge as the game favours better players in generating them whereas with a Huge Db you get loads of crap to choose from.

Could that be your problem?
Hmmm. A thought occurs to me. Will the new "non-regen" database be free of this issue? Will the constant restocking of youth teams mean that playing with a smaller Db is not so restrictive to LLaMas?
