What everyone else said basically.
What I'd like to see though is players have a value under some circumstances:
1. The player is placed on the transfer list and his manager has nominated a price,
2. An estimate from your scout or assman who has spent time looking at him. Won't be accurate or represent what his club wants for him of course,
3. Media reported estimated value for a player who has been bandied about in the press as a potential transfer candidate.
Someone at GQ suggested values for your own team be visible to you. Not sure I like that as I have a 16yo currently who has played 2 matches and is valued as my 4th highest. I didn't notice anything special about him when the scout turned him up amongst the scores of other schoolboys, but it's obvious now he's good, and the only way I
know he's good for sure is the bloody valuation.
