Hi guys, this is my first attempt at an update and I think I've abided by all the rules. If not let me know.

I have now completed 4 and a half seasons, but I can't spend too long per day on this site (I'm at work) so if I update one season a day for the rest of this week, will that be ok?

I start my game at Finn Harps in the Irish first division (lowest playable league in Ireland). I chose them for no other reason than that the team I support IRL, Derby County, once beat them something like 16-2 on aggregate in Europe during the 1970's. I wanted to see if I could take both Finn and Derby back to Europe in the same save.

Season 1 - Finn Harps - Irish 1st division

A perfectly average LL team with a perfectly average target from the board (mid table safety). The team had a decent "spine" (goaly, one DC, one AMC, one SC), but was crap every where else. The division itself was distinctly mediocre with all the teams, bar the top two and bottom one, incredibly inconsistent. I struggled to develop a system that suited my team, and it showed on the pitch. I couldn't sign any new players as I couldn't sign a decent scout - the only ones that applied for the job were contracted to other teams and I couldn't afford to buy them out.

The one highlight to the season was an AMC whose stats were crap, but he played like a star. Due to no player naming, I shall in future refer to him as "Mr Crapstatsbutgreatplayer" - catchy or what?!

I finally got a scout for the final third of the season, and a couple of his finds helped elevate us to third. It didn't last long, and the end of the season petered out with Finn mid-table.

Final position - 6th (out of 12)

Not the early success that I hoped for, but there were a few encouraging signs for the next season:
- Money was tight, but I wasn't hemoraging cash like so often is the case in LLM
- My scout was digging up some promising cheap players
- The teams in the league are so inconsistant that you only have to string 2 or 3 wins together to get into contention
- I was begining to develop a formation that suited the players available to me

Depending on how the close season went, I was hopeful to be in promotion contention next time out.

Excellent, nothing to complain about.

Good player renaming btw. That's the way to go.

You'll have to sort that out. LLM comes first, work second. Otherwise, good update.

Welcome new funny bloke.

I agree with Seamus, work is no excuse to avoid the boards!

LLM>work.

Of course, this is from the guy who took a couple months off to finish his MA thesis, so what does my opinion matter.
