It's Kinda Daunting in here I've been playing CM/FM for years now, but never had the patience/Skill to "do" LLM...But Im determined to give it a go this time round, hence I'm in this forum for the first time .a question for you LLMers if i may??
1) I Know sod all about conference football and the fact i know Naff all about the squad is half the reason i never carry on for long. How did you guys do it to start with? Grit your teeth and carry on and discover your team, get an assistant manager report, or sell the whole fricking lot and start fresh?
I really wanna give this a go and have a long career, rather then float about in the Prem/Championship for a season and then start again, Any ideas, comments and even abuse, welcome....
...Be gentle

adam If you look at the top of the forum, you will see in the rules that we are unable to give you any hints or tips as to how you should play your game. To be honest though, it's irrelevant because we all want different things out of the game.
My advice.
1. Pick a Conference North/South team
2. Do your best with them.
3. After your first couple of seasons, if you're doing ok then stay. If you're not, apply for another job and do crap there too.
4. Whatever you do, just keep at it. Winning isn't everything remember. Avoiding relegation in FM07 for some teams is going to be an achievement.
Good luck .

Well adam, we don't tell you how to play the game, and we won't give you any advice, either, other than just go with your gut, or your head, whichever you think seems best.
Just pick a team, Conference North/South preferably (Has it been confirmed there's just National in 07?) and do as well as you can!
If you need help picking a team, you can find Frank in the forum header.

5. If you get really bored with your England game, Ask Frank at the top of the page to pick you a team from anywhere in the World. That should keep you busy .

I play it like this: I pick some random team in the lowest league available for a country. Usually try to find a nice name and make sure they don't have terrible colours (no red and purple teams for me, for example, they do my eyes in).
Then I sink my teeth in and won't stop before I win the CL with that team. Or get the sack, of course
Did he say it takes 'skill' to be an LLM? Maybe that's where I've gone wrong all these years

It doesn't matter if you know the players or not: under LLM you can't sign anyone unless your scouts find them anyway. As for your own squad, just experiment until you find something that works for the shower of $hite that you've had bestowed unto you.

LLM is the only way to play and by halfway through your first season you will realise that.
Once you can get past the fact that you don't know who anyone is you will actually find it easier to deal with your squad than at a big team because we all have our own beliefs on how good a player is IRL and that is not necessarily matched by their stats in the game.
Discover your squads (lack of) talents, curse and swear as your only two stikers both get injured for months leaving your goals scored column as blank and vacant as a Big Brother contestant's face and bounce back from relegation with a nice trip to the Job Centre.
Force yourself to stick, strictly, to the rules and you will soon embrace them and wonder why you wasted so much time not using them before.
