| I'm surprised by that proclomation, Ian. Even in this thread, someone was mentioning Liverpool-Wrexham. Is it more common outside the UK?
Either way, if long-time knowledgable LLaMas feel so strongly about Feeder clubs, then it should really go into the LLM Guidelines.

Arse have Barnet as a feeder club IRL. They are all supposed to have been researched for the game so all of the feeder clubs in place at the start of the game should be true to life
| I brought this up the day the demo was released but it just gets ignored. The researchers word is final apparently.

Not so much, Michal? I haven't heard of any, which is where realism and LLM has to be observed in a UK game.

There was mention of Liverpool( )/Crewe as well, but how true was that? What is the link between Liverpool( ) and Wrexham? Is it formal? Is it known? Is there finance involved?
There's a big difference between Plymouth lending Tiverton a couple of players and a "feeder" agreement being in place.

What's more and more common is big european clubs having feeders in african leagues. An extreme example is I think Feyernoord has a club in the Senegalese premier league for example. The club was actually started as a football academy, hence the name, "Feyernoord Academy"...
Speaking of senegalese clubs names, they got it going on. "Hearts of oak" is a favourite
Oh, and fugazi, sometimes it's just plain better to use the good old "realxed". Or "more relaxed" in your case. Lenient, as an alternative. But I know there is one word for the term "relaxed rules". I've got it at the tip of the tounge, but it refuses to come out. Arrrgh.

| Really credible semantic criticism at the end of the post there. |

No LLaMa will, Julian. If they do, then they ain't.
| Ian, but that is going against the idea of playing the game in the most realistic way. There is a certain Premiership Club that has loaned some of it's British youngsters to a certain Belgium club. Now they don't need a work permit so they haven't done this for Nationalisation purposes. Have I just proved that players at big clubs get loaned out to smaller clubs for no other reason that to give them 1st team football? If I have proved this, (and I think we all agree that it exist in real life), then to stop it from happening would seem to be going against our own guidelines of playing the game in the most realistic manner possible.
You could, (and possibly also should) argue, that it is not realistic for me, (as a manager of a Conference N/S team), to be able to loan some talented youngsters from a Premiership giant. Does that mean that loans should be outlawes completely? Once again, I think not.
What seems to be the sticking point is the distance between the 2 teams in question. Let's be honest, a 17 year old kid is going to get more out of playing for the Reserves of a Premiership giant, than he is by playing in the Conference N/S. Maybe what needs to be discussed, is the number of leagues that it is reasonable for a player to drop in order you gain first team football. This may be appliccable whether the loan is from a feeder club or not. This in turn would then allow feeder clubs to be used freely. |

I've looked at Wrexham and Barnet's transfers over the past five seasons (including loans on www.soccerbase.com) and Liverpool have loaned one player to Wrexham and Arsenal none to Barnet.
I also can find no mention on the 'net of any feeder clubs between English Clubs.
BTW, I'm only interested in British Clubs when I say no LLaMa, etc...I'm not interested in Johnny Foreigners |

As far as I know the Liverpool/Wrexham is an official tie. As mentioned Liverpool play them every year in a pre-season friendly and use their ground for matches for the stiffs.
The Crewe connection is not official and is more to do with the history of the clubs dealing with each other and the directors having personal relationships.

Jim, as I posted a few bugs in the demo forum, i stumbled upon some kids ranting about their Chelsea youngsters refusing to be loaned out. Seems like you can't instruct the players to be sent out, and the problem you talk about therefore will sort it self out.
Not that I've explored all the opportunities of club relations - but it seems like it's a myriad of different combinations, some of wich can mimic the somewhat informal relations that exsists between clubs, even in England. Player feeding is as far as I know only one of many opportunities.
Will be interesting to see what they've made out of this in the final version, I think it's a bit early to dismiss it entirely.
