Default Semi-Professional to Professional status

After starting the game unemployed I was offered a job at lowly Montrose in the Scottish 3rd Division. 3 difficult seasons later I'm in a 1st div and and the only team thats still running part-time.

My question is does the club status ever change from semi-professional to full-time in FM2006 by achievement (reaching a premier division for example) or does it always stay the same?

Any help would be appriciated

Don't know about the Scottish leagues, but in my St. Albans save the board announced we turned professional when we entered League 2.

If you do wel enough, you'll turn professional, eventually.

Mine changed in England I think when I went from the conference to div II. But I can't say for certain. Keep at it they will make you professional eventually.

10 post in 3 and a half years that has got to be some sort of record

Supastar,
I played 10+ seasons with Elgin City. It took a while to turn professional, but it eventually happened upon winning promotion to the SPL.

As far as I know, Queen's Park are the only Scottish team who remain staunchly amateur as a matter of principle. Although I can't say for sure if SI have taken this into account in the game. I imagine every other team has the potential to become fully professional though.

You might find this Scottish Div 3 guide of interest.

I think that there are a number of factors which determined your rise from semi-professional to professional

Stadium size, Money, fulltime players ( very important), finances and last your league status.

Yeah i think hes right, but i found when your status is semi-pro it is quite hard to sign players on full time contracts, anyone else expierienced this?

Playing in Slovenian Division 2 last night, one of the teams relegated from the previous year reverted back to Semi-Professional.

Quite a nice touch I thought!
