Tobias, I found that the people that applied, were willing to accomodate my wage options to get the job (youth coaches, etc. applying for my ass.man job). At least in this respect it was realistically getting them to take the pay cut for the status increase. Only real issue for me was the compensation which made every option untenable.

TtD, actually I never got around to trying - I just assumed the worse, and couldn't be rrsed to try, because of the compensation. If what you're saying is right though, the job centre has improved greatly. Still, seems a bit weird that coaches are demanding double the wage of my highest earning player. Can't wait to try out 07 for real, but too into my last 06 game atm..

Only basing that observation on 6 applicants, in one game, so may not hold true for all, but looks promising. Will update once I try it out further.

Enquired about the jobcentre and compensation in GQ, all I got was a sarky comment from Glyn telling me to deal with it, so guess we have to assume having a useless jobcentre is unavoidable for us little guys.

Hello there never been brave enough to post here before but I've got a question I couldn't find an answer for, and here it is, how do you actually get new staff members when the jobcentre is so usless as this thread has established? I try to play by your guidelines so no search screen, is there a simple way to look for staff that Im just too blind to see.

No. In FM 2006, you have to use the search screen to sign staff, since the Job Centre is ****ed up.

If you're talking about '07, then although the job centre is much improved, the jury is still out on whether it's still 'broken' at lower levels...

Really disappointed atm

Just finished my first season and was in cloud nine (won’t reveal my position until i release my update)

I went to check the boardroom, anticipating leaps of joy etc

Turns out the board are fecking disappointed not only did I exceed their achievements, I pulled off the exact opposite.

Dunno, ntfc... some boardrooms are programmed to be impatient unless you win it all. <shrug> Hard to say if it's a problem or not based on only a single club.

On the bright side, your reputation should be doing better since your side did well. Which means you'll be able to find another job if your board doesn't see the light.
