I am a closet LLM. Dont want my first post to be an intro...
I found this over at in the Editors Hideaway. I was only looking, honestly! http://community.sigames.com/eve/for...2/m/8682080562
Looks like we can now get Huge DB, anyone try this yet?

Nah, no go.
From Ian himself just hours ago: If it doesn't have SI stamped, embossed in gold and covered in Belgian chocolate, then it isn't used in LLM.
Hopefully SI will put it back with one of the patches, but judging by what Miles and Marc are saying I won't be holding my breath |

As a long time LLM I will for the 1st time be using the retain player feature for the countries of the UK to get a more realistic game. To balance this I am having to load up all the playable top leagues in Europe. I have let a game run for a few seasons to see how long it takes, & it averages 8 hours a season, so that is not to bad, & I can certainly live with this as I am a very slow player anyway. I always normally use the huge database which gets around this, & although SI have done this to improve the game, I & many others it would seem would rather we had the choice. |

Would the retain players option not actually make the game more balanced, in that there would probably be fewer part timers coming to England from Scotland, Wales and especially Ireland when you have all the home nations leagues selected.

I think youngsteve's solution is about the best given the situation and I have never used edt or ddt files or retin players because of the imbalance but I think this is better than having few players in the lower teams.
A bugger to hear about the bugs, the 07 demo had me salivating.

*Insert very frustrated smilie*
Have just started my third season with Fisher Athletic around 12 games in and have at last been frustrated with something involving FM2007.
In the initial 12 games, 9 players have been dismissed
SORTITOUTSI!!!!

There are about 500 threads on this in GQ/Bugs etc. I expect it will get 'tuned' at some point.
I'm inwardly hoping that the player AI in matches will get looked at as well. Watching a striker pass the ball when he's 8 yards out with just the goalie to beat is the kind of thing that makes me lose my voice.

| Do you not like that? :thdn:
I suspect I may be in the minority, but so far I'm enjoying 2007 more than I did 2006 ... and I haven't found the smaller database to be a problem.
Every time my scout reports back, I've sent him out again, and so far (with ten games of the first season to go) he's found about 30 suitable players, six of whom I've persuaded to sign for me ... and that's limiting him to looking for players who have a nil value.
What happens when I've got some money to spend (if I ever have any money to spend) remains to be seen ...

You are certainly not in the minority on my account, FM2007 has been very enjoyable so far
On the topic of scouting, my scout has discovered around 60 players in 3 years from his assignments, is this commendable or inadequate?
