Bank Balance: £262k; transfer kitty: £24k
Players in: 3 for £0k; players out: 2 for £200k
Got two first youths from the “academy”, both look decent enough.
We had an excellent season, starting safely in midtable and then slowly but surely rising to a 4th position come January. Despite the sale of our star defender in January for a fee equal to our balance total, we just kept on grabbing points (got my first 1st place award in February!) and the last half of the season we were real promotion contenders. It all climaxed on the last day, as the top 5 (with 2 points separating the number one York and a 5th placed St. Albans) battled out the final positions on the league table.
We played 4th placed Woking away on the last day, coming from 1-0 behind to a comfortable 1-3 ahead, only to lose 4 –3.
Pos 6th, W 21, D 13, L 12, F 75, A 60, 76 points.
Had the usual brief cup season, 1st round FA cup, and 2nd round of FA Trophy.
Enthousiastic striker once again was chosen player of the year (and rightly so with 27 goals, 11 assists and 9 MoM awards).
France won the World Cup after 1-0 win over Holland.

The bookies believed we were not far behind the topteams (Halifax, Stevenage, Bristol Rovers and Kidderminster) in terms of quality.
No youths this year, but the board agreed that the training facilities were very basic. We brought in some youngsters, and let go some backups, but the first team of last year remained intact.
Even so the season started erratic, but after 10 matches things fell together again and an excellent league run saw us rise from 17th to 2nd position halfway through the season. We managed to stay in play-off position until 2 matches before the end. We dropped to 6th with one match against a 2nd place Bristol Rovers to go; we get “completely outplayed”, lose 2-4, and end the season in 6th position once more.
Pos 6th, W 22, D 10, L 14, F 79, A 47, 76 points.
Participated for the first time in the LDV- Suck Arse Trophy, was also the last time this season. We got kicked out of the 1st round of the FA cup, and we managed to reach the semi-finals of the FA-trophy.
Enthousiastic striker improved his excellent performance last year with 32 goals (conference topscorer as well), 13 assists and 10 MoM awards, and I’ll eat my hat if he won't be chosen player of the year.
