Well, after a year away from the game, I'm back. Commence the celebrations! And its great to have a brand new version of the game.. FM06 seems good so far

To be honest, I'm changed. After loading up the game, selecting the Arsenal & opening the TT&T forums ; I had an epiphany. I mean, whats the bloody point? Who needs the money, glory and adulation. That’s not life. Life is getting a partially-sighted, club-footed no-hoper to play in the hole; for some financially-crippled excuse of a football club in some grim miserable backwater. So, In my darkest hour, I turned to Frank. And he sent me to Belgium.

And since then, I have been on the road to enlightenment; spending 30 days or nights (ish) lurking to find out the mysterious ways of LLM (well, to be honest some of its been pretty heavy going, but it still beats work ).

And now I’m a zealot. So I forsake Satan and all its editing capabilities, and I vow to show zero tolerance to those non-believers (FFS RTFFH!). And may they burn in Nobby's flames for eternity (or until banned).

Sooooooo, will you give me some guidance. The only thing I really can’t work out is the whole SYB bit. I understand that it means what it says-on-the-tin. But what about when you rise up through the leagues? Or get into European competition? Surely you can scout beyond your borders then? Or have I misinterpreted it; and its only SYB once you’ve gone up a few leagues?

Either way, its not gonna be a problem for a while. Just thought I'd stop lurking and ask the question.

Oh and one final thing (I would ask it in GQ, but then I’d have to gouge out my eyeballs afterwards). When selecting a new game, is there a difference in selecting Normal / Detail on the leagues (ie I have selected 14 leagues from 6 nations all on normal for speed. Does this effect the gameplay at all? Should leagues you plan to manage in be on full detail?)

Thanks.

SWYCT and SYB were designed for playing at the start of the game in the YooKay for the former and mainland Europe/elsewhere for the latter.

As seasons wear on (and on) and finances increase (or not ) then scouts can be sent further afield as far as you can realistically justify it, i.e. more dosh, send them further.

FM2007 has the board telling you where they'll allow scouts to be sent so it's more (or less) pertinent.

OK. Thats seems sensible.

FM07 does seem to have some LLM improvements; however, I am in the don't bother until 1st patch camp. So, FM06 (which I bought around a year ago and havent played) for a while yet, I think.

What about the game start-up & initial league detail settings. Any advice?

BeanCo, welcome, velkommen. Think you'll find it quite frustrating. And gratifying. It's The Way to play, so nice one bruvva.

If you're just going to play a quick game before the first patch, my humble advice is to play a strictly UK/ireland game (all leagues from the isles) on a huge DB. Fun for months. Try to start in one of the smaller leagues.

And oh, if you have a question that doesn't involve cheating, GQ is all right, by all means.

Cheers for the welcome m8y.

I have done a fair bit of non-league before. But never the LLM way. But it now seems the right way to play. So Im a convert

My games have never had that much european experience (certainly not in the deep depths of Belgium League III:A). So, I was pretty happy with Franks choice.

Only thing is, I dont want to go trawling round GQ- there is a small chance that a few may remember me from TTF- and besides, its now against my strict belief-system

I think I'll start with a few less leagues. Just fancied euro-hopping in my career and was wondering if the normal detail setting would hinder me in any way.

Anyways. Thanks for the advice.. look out for my update in a couple of weeks!

Normal/Full detail only affect the amount of detail put into the matches played in the leagues you are not managing in.

Using full detail is pretty stupid, IMO, because the only effects of that is being able to watch highlights in those leagues' matches. It increases processing times very much, though.

Apart from that, don't text talk here.
