Make up your own mind :thup:
There were other leagues though where players' values were artificially low due to the club's reputation and you had to do everything in your power to bleed big clubs dry and get the fee you deserved.

Well, in Belgium its definitely the opposite problem. Think Id rather struggle to get the fees than this way round.

I think my rule is going to have to be,

i) You can only offer-to-clubs at face value.
2) You can only sell a player for 100% of his value (so a £1k player I can sell for £2k).

The road to salvation is a treacherous one..

I found Belgium one of the worst leagues for undervaluing players. I find it farcical that players earning even 200 pounds a week are worth only 2-3K in value. That wouldn't even buy out their contract. I never got an overpriced bid from a club unless it was from me negotiating a fee, in which case its a different story imo.

If you're offering a player around because you want rid of him then you can't ask for much above face value because you're selling damaged goods. That's only realistic. But if a bid comes in then I think you should feel free to screw a big club for what you can get because the player will be worth that to them after they're signed, because their reputation instantly adds to the player's face value.

Think you have a point. I'll try that way then.

So, my rule amended to;

1) You can only offer-to-clubs at face value.
2) You can sell a player for whatever you can get; but only if the offer is unsolicited.
3) Once a player has been offered to clubs, all future offers count as solicited.

Hopefully that will keep the realism in check.

How did you find your time in Belgium?

Damn frustrating because I couldn't sign any players once I levelled out in mid-D2. I then got into a fight over the state of the training facilities with the board... and then came an ultimatum, and a "mutual" decision to leave the club

What about the overall standard of football. Looking at my squad-stats, and they look spectacularly mediocre. Eng League 1 sort of standard. So Im presuming the standard is a bit higher than in England.

Great tale

I guess I do pretty much what you're talking about. If a big club comes after one of your youngsters who's your most important player you get what you can for him. I don't offer players out much, if at all, just release them on or before their contract expires
