hi all.. this is my first post on llm forum.I have read loads of threads here and really enjoyed a lot of them. i didnt know about this forum for quite sometime. i had tried my hands at fm 05 and i was completely lost into that game for a year and a half. after gaining some expertise with league 2 teams i shifted to llm teams but dint play very strictly according to the rules mentioned here ( as i was unaware of them)
so come dec 2007 i finally got my hands on fm 08.. a lot has changed in the game and a lot of time has passed too and i can say that it has changed for the better. so i used frank to find me a team to manage and i got Saparvagen FF from the swedish east sevaland division. I didnt have any experience of managing a team in sweden so dint know how it would have panned out. I have loaded all the league from italy, spain and england because all the clubs i favour are present in these nations only.

From here on i will like to describe what happened season- wise..

Season 07/08

Had a decent squad of players, more than capable of acheving than what was required for us a mid table finish). I tweaked the tactics to my suiting and gave little thought about set-pieces( whom i used to ignore earlier). The reason started rather tamely. 4 games gone and only 1 win and 1 draw. I knew i had to be patient and from then on we went for 11 games undefeated catapulting the team on 4th position and making me satisfied to say the least. Getting goals wasn't a problem but the lack of defence was my undoing. After the blip there was the usual topsy turvy performance and a dreadful second half of the season saw us finish 7th. only 4 points seperated the team in 5th and us .
( just asking a question--- what is the deal with Hammarby- TTF -- they finish champions and dont get promoted??? why is this?? )


Season 08/09

i get in a decent goalkeeper as that is the most effective way to strengthen the defence i believe . Apart from it i sign 5 strikers for $0. Although i sign them as strikers but because of thier crossing ability they can be a good replacement for my wingers. I have always had a bend for defensive football where the major attacking threat is from wingers and strikers with good finishing . i donot usually use targetman, playmaker etc. more about the season... i started off very well and after 4 games i was 1st with my striking force notching up 7 goals in the first match and we were scoring goals for fun. After that my main striker gets injured and will be out for rest of the season and another striker whom i was using as ML gets injured. Goals become hard to come and suddenly the two teams below us hit an unbelievable run of form. i end the season on 4th .
Transfers: A striker i signed got the top league scorer award . he was also the best signing of the year. I signed a DC who was the worst signing of the season although i dint think he did badly. I had also signed a DL who was quick and good.
I managed to acheive my target which was finishing in the top half.



Season 09-08

The most unpredictable season so far. Board has asked me to finish top half again . I didnt sign any new player apart from a DC , thought i should give team players sometime to go out and prove themselves. The result was a mess. We went out losing to team lower than us in the table and defeating team on unbeaten runs. For once i wanted to change the system that i was playing with and nothing seemed right. I had employed some scouts and some coaches. So now was the time to get my scouts out and do some shopping. I didnt have any transfer fund so i had to find suitable players on free transfer. All this time i maintained a squad of 24 for the first team. All the players in the reserves who were above 24 were transfer listed as money has been one of the major problems that i have faced.
Transfers: I sell a very dashing CM of mine for a very good amount .
Season 09/10
A very intresting season in which i won promotion by finishing 1st. ( will post the details soon)

P.S i am working a lot these days so i dont get to play fm apart from weekends and it seems a disconnect. I played all the games with maximum game speed and maximum highlights speed with only observing the key moments. I tried this for the first time. Are there other players here who do the same. I was able to finish 3 seasons in 4 days.
Another question is that my financial status is bad so i arrange a lot of friendly cup matches pre-season . Is it fair?? I raise decent money from swedish teams playing in friendly cups when they wont play in friendlies with me.

Still i am always my wage budget and have $0 for transfers.

I believe this is because they are the Hammarby IF second string and are therefore not allowed under the rules to be promoted. Same applies in my Norwegian save.
