i think that there is an issue which needs to be addressed as far as income is concerned. obviously your income will increase before the transfer window with season ticket sales and transfers out, but expenses are too much unless you play infront of 50,000 at home. and even though i do, i noticed in my second season at Atl Madrid, despite finishing 4th and qualifying for the group stages of the CL, the only income other than matchdays at home are from champions league wins or draws. i don't recall getting a league or cup finish bonus at the start of the new season at all.

The board takes prize money into account when setting up a wage and transfer budget, so, losing a few hundred grand a month is something the club can easily manage when there's a pot of gold waiting at the end of the season.

but why change from the fm07 system so dramatically?

i started the previous game with madrid, then i left for sevilla who had fallen from grace to become relegation battlers in 2011. they were losing large amounts of cash each month. i restructured the wage bill, sold players and bought bosmans, and at the end of 3 years they were making about £1M profit or more each month.

it just seems silly when your board are disappointed with the financial stae of the club if they are expecting a large income at the end of the season.
