What is the youngest you can play a player in first team, is it 17?

Sure it can be younger. Super Johnny Bostock just made his debut at 15.

Sorry, wasnt very specific in my previous post. In the UK you have to be 16 to play league matches. Maybe it's younger in some of the cups but I've never experienced this.
I cant comment on any other league.

my understanding is that players below 16 can only play in cups. They are restricted from the league however.

yep 16 at the moment i have 3 16 year olds in the team and my average is 21 for the squad!

when i promoted John Fleck to my first team at Rangers due to a injury crisis of strikers in August and Lennon was on loan it wouldnt let me play, but he made his debut on or just after his 16th Birthday.
