Default When can I "Approach to Sign" a Player?

Another team just offered a contract to one of my players on April 1st w/o a transfer fee. His contract expires June 30th.

So, I go to start checking on some players. But when I go to offer a contract to players whose contracts also expire on June 30th, I cannot.

Is there a set date when you can "approach to sign" players whose contracts expire on June 30th of that year?

Do you have your preferences made so your Ass Man handles contract negotiations?

If you are playing in the England leagues you cannot sign another player from another English team unless his contract expires in 3months or less. The team that signed your player on a pre-contract should be foreign, is that right?

You should be able to sign a player 6 months before his contract expires or if the player is 16 or younger and has not signed a pre-contract of sorts, also you can approach to sign if the player's contract is unattached.

in hoc

As for the first part, i meant you can "approach" the player 6 months before his contract ends and then the transfer will go through once his contract runs out.

But if your playing as an English team and the player you want is at an English team it has to be 3 months before his contracte nds.

Yes...I play an English team and I am looking to sign English players. It is correct that the team that is trying to sign my player on April 1st is from another league...Scottish, actually.

So, it is 1 month? Meaning that if his contract expires 6/30, then you cannot approach to sign until about 6/1?

It's actually May 31, or 6 weeks before his contract expiry, whichever is later.

Yes Jan 1st of that year. You can sign a player for free when they have six or less months to run on their contract. They then join your club when their contract expires ie July 1st.
