When can I "Approach to Sign" a Player?

What would be nice is if we could get a message about a players contract (at another club) coming to an end only at a point where you can make an offer to them, ie when it is 6 weeks away for a player in England.

My thought, too. Instead, you have to create a note about them and follow up.

Yes Jan 1st of that year. You can sign a player for free when they have six or less months to run on their contract. They then join your club when their contract expires ie July 1st. </BLOCKQUOTE>

But not if it is England, right? It is SSG said above...or, is this something different due to the transfer window?
