realness and fun do not sit apart. it is more than possible for a game to be both and fm manages that.

Exactly, it's a game. Maybe I don't want to be a real life manager. I really don't want to be changing tactics every game to counter this and that, I can't be bothered, why should I spend so much time doing these things?? All I want to do is pick a team and watch that team play a match. Why can't I have an option saying Assistant Manager takes control of tactics during matches? That would make the game much more enjoyable in my opinion. </BLOCKQUOTE>

you can pick a team and watch them play. but dont expect to win everything like that. otherwise having all the tactical extras would be frivolous. there'd be no point to them.

if you want to play a less intense game play cm. if you want to play a FPS dont buy a flight sim.
surely people know that FM is not a simple pick up and win everything game?

tactics change almost every game in real life.
from players to keep an eye on, from marking a player out of the game to zonal marking in the next game. from playing a 442 with both CM sitting back hoping to hit on the break to a 442 with your CMs betting forward.

getting your wingers to the goal line to cross or asking them to cut in and help out in the middle.

Agreed about real life, but in the game asking players to watch out for a certain player doesn't even work. In fact if you tell your players to tightly mark a certain striker I think it INCREASES the chances of that striker scoring...

Because this is a SIMULATION. It is meant to represent real life, managers change tactics so often IRL that it is part of the game. I hate this stance but if you don't like this, then this isn't the game for you. I hate it when people say that but in this case it seems to ring true.
