How did you create a B team for Arsenal? I have searched but cannot find how to do it in 2007.

You can do it in the offical pre game editor, but you need the new patch (7.0.2).

The problem with the B team is that it takes the reserves teams position.

You can have sort of a B team in Sweden (moving between the two teams is restricted) and Hammarby has got a B team playing in division 2.

Thing is thought they've also got a reserve team and of course an under 18 side. The problem in FM is that you only can have the first team and two other teams. Hammarby needs three.

Pretty frustrating because if you wanna play realistically you won't put down your older reservers from the first team in the B side where only talents (over 18 years) are supposed to be playing.

I remember sending doing this to get Premiership B teams in the Welsh league in FM2006...problem is it set the main team's nationality to Welsh.

Slowly their supply of good players dwindled, their reputations fell and everyone with a B Team in Wales slowly fell down to League 1/2 in England. (And, yes, this was Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd etc.)

Why didnt you change the nation back to English?

It only does it because you swaped teams, if you looked at Welsh clubs you swaped theres would have gone to English! but you can change it back.

Not really much else to add. I have been playing with this active for a few seasons and have not come across any problems.

The only thing I would say is dont let your B/C team get relegated to a non-active league because they want get promoted again!

The best thing to do, is to set it up and then run a holiday game into the second season. Just to be sure.

Step-by-step guide to creating B teams.

Make sure you have the 7.0.2 update!

* Locate the offical editor (Start - All Programes - Sports Interactive).

* In the editor select "file" (top left) - "load database" - then select "7.0.2 update" click "ok".

- Im going to use Arsenal as the example.

* Once loaded. Select clubs (left hand side) and then type in "Arsenal" at the top and then press "enter".

*A list of clubs will appear. Double click Arsenal. (You should notice the list on the left will change. This list is specific to Arsenal).

* Select "edit" (top left, next to "file" buttton). This will give you a drop down menu. Now select "add reserve team" (11th option down).

* The screen will change to your created B team! On the left it will give you three more options for your B team (Details, kits & colours, and Staff & Players). There is nothing specific to do with these options to get it to work but it want hurt to tweak things to make it more realistic.

* Now you have created your B team you will need to choose which league to enter the B team in. You can not choose a English league because it wont work! I dont know all of the countries that support B teams, its trial and error. I normally choose Spain as the country for my B team (Which works).

* In the box bottom-half left, select "search". Now select "competitions" (top-half left).

* Now type in "Spanish" and press enter. This will give you a list of all Spanish competitions, choose the league you want to enter your B team into (i choose "Spanish second division B1" normally but you can choose whatever league you like). Double click it.

* You will see a list in the box on the left, click "teams". A list of all the teams in that league will appear. Decide on the team you want to swap your B team with. Single click the team and you will notice the swap button at the bottom has become active.

* Click the swap button and a pop-up box will appear. Type in Arsenal B and then press enter. Arsenal B will show up, click "Arsenal B" then "ok" and thats it! Your new B team will be in that league.

* One last thing to do will be, to go back Arsenal (which should still be an option in the bottom left). Click "Arsenal" then select "details" in the list top left (underneath "arsenal" and above "stadium"). You will see that the "Nation" has gone to Spain, or you need to do is change it back to England.

#Dont forget to save#

Thats it! Hopefully it should all work. You can create a C team too, using exactly the same directions.

When I have done alot of editing, I will always run a test game to make sure of no crashes. to do this, I just start a new game and put it in holiday mode for at least into the second season.
