i use a programme that stores start up files of all games i have, miles easier than switching cd's all the time, also saves the disks from getting scratched coz i can just leave them in the box.

Definately not stealing, only stealing if u dont buy the game. can do whatever you want with your games as long as u pay for them. this includes making a copy for a backup incase of disk breakage etc

Technically not true, surely you're breaking copyright law if you copy it then sell the copies?

In fact, I think you're probably on dodgy ground copying it at all. Claiming the old 'as a back up' is difficult, because seriously how often do CD's break?

I can honestly say I own well over 200 CD's/DVD's and not one has ever broken other than intentionally.

If you have forked out money for the original cd, using the crack is not stealing. Plain and simple.
I personally use the crack so that my cd does not get wrecked - too may times have I had almost brand new game dics refusing to work due to 'read errors'. Of course the shop wont take them back either... what else am I supposed to do?

Stealing or not, it is illegal. Whatever your personal viewpoint on it, its illegal.

FAST / FACT that govern copyright law allow a copy of ANY software / music cd/dvd to be made as a backup. Obvisiously selling the copy is illegal (I didnt mention anyhting about selling it) but keeping a copy is not, AS LONG AS YOU OWN the original. do some research chaps

Glynners is spot on, you are allowed to make copies of anyone copyrighted material you buy, so long as you do not sell them on, or lend them to anyone else.

Dont know a game where you keep changing cd's while playing, most usuall rely on one disc. Only use more than one disk when they install a game. Probably not allowed due to copyright as you are altering a file
