im just going to keep this pretty simple, but dont be put off by the "unprofessionalism" of my post... ive achieved quite a lot with my tactic, including big wins over the bigger teams with Hull City...

okay well basically its quite an attacking formation, all of the midfield are on the attacking side of football, however, the 2 central midfielders are responsible for different duties, one is responsible for the forward runs and so on, whereas the other is required as a backbone, being a solid tackler with creative freedom

the wingbacks are encouraged to go on forward runs, hopefully ending up with a direct cross into the box, so wingbacks with singer qualities would be useful... the 2 centrebacks are the exact opposite, they tend to stay back defensively and clear with direct passing

both wingers are required to go on forwards run with the ball and tend to do the basic job of a winger, skin the wingbacks and get the ball into the box, no messing about..

then we have the 2 strikers, pace is a necessity... both are once again encouraged to go on forward runs, whereas only 1 is enouraged to run with the ball, so "winger" style attributes could be useful...
