Okay lads, I need a bit of help here, so I’m hoping one or two of you tactical guru’s might be up for this.
I have a problem that my strikers almost never pass the damn ball when attacking goal from impossible angles. They almost always shoot, and needless to say it is general side netting or blasted over the top.
How can I stop this from happening ?
Is there a tweak in the tactics or players instructions that would make them pass more in those situations ?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Ciao

im not sure but what i personally would do if i had this problem would be to:
add cross ball to the strikers
lower the strikers mentality/creative freedom
remove long shots from the strikers.
not sure how useful that would be but its my reccomendation. also maybe slow the tempo and lower team mentality a bit?
Hope its some help

I don't have a problem with strikers shooting from impossible angles.
What bugs me more is how strikers love running wide, away from the opposition goalkeeper, and spoiling their own chances of scoring a goal.

| Most frustrating thing in the world. I have noticed that some strikers have a higher tendancy to do it than others. I currently have Pato, Huntelaar, Zigic and Suazo as my strikers for Ajax. I can't play Suazo now as he does it every time giving himself impossible angles. Been analysing attributes etc to see why he does more then Huntelaar etc, can't work it out

if you lower his mentality he will start to pass more across goal. if you lower his CF, he shouldnt go out there in the first place!
at least thats the way i see it!!

What's an impossible angle? I assume that it is an angle that is not between 1 and 360 degrees? I would recommend limiting your player creative freedom and free roles in order for them to stay in a familiar human-like dimension.

arteta......I asked for help.........
Thanks mate, but your response was pretty childish. Don't bother contributing to discussions when apparently you don't understand the issue.

Check to see if has high "team work" or not. In my experience, strikers with high team work will pass when he clearly feel passing is better than shooting.
Also, strikers with high finishing, high composure, medium decisions, will most often believe in himself (which is good) too much (which is bad) and shoot anyway.
