I'd like some advice on scout reports and working the opposition out.
well after failing miserably on creating my own tactics and also failing with other peoples created tactics i decided to try again with just the global approach and only "creating" my game plan on the match day.
im doing this because it seems easier and means less hassle than tweaking all the players individual mentalities, which IMO confuses the players.
so my first match i had the scout report for newcastle (im the mancs btw), it said they like to slow the game down by passing short and keeping possession, it also said i should defend deep etc etc.
so usually id ignore these reports but this time im using them, on the match day i upped the TM to attacking, i played direct football at a quick tempo to hopefully overrun them. i also defended deep and man marked martins.
usually id lose to newcastle, i have had no success whatsoever on this game, but using this approach i won 2-0.
ok enough of my story, that scout report was pretty easy to counter.
my main question is i have no idea what to do when it says "they have a mixed passing game, they like to get the ball down and play it"
ideas?
also in another game when blackburn played direct, i played short passing with a slow tempo. which should be right? but thats the opposite i played to newcastle so if it worked for me against newcastle, surely it would work for blackburn against me? it seems like it works both ways and im pretty confused.
bascially id like some advice on how to counter teams using the scout reports, or if there is already a thread about scout reports, could someone direct me to it?
many thanks
