Hello again, thought I would bump this rather than starting a new thread.
I've made a few adjustments to my tactics based on some of the advice given in this thread, but I'm still finding my team is hopelessly inconsistent, scoring freely in one game and struggling in the next. I'm also finding that during the games where I struggle, my lone striker barely touches the ball, they are basically not in the game.
The changes:
- my three am's now line up differently. rather than all playing in AMC with sarrows on the 2 wide players, they now line up AMR AMC AML.
- I decreased mentality on wingers to around 14 and increased strikers to 14.
- I have lowered creative freedom (except for Rooney and Scholes who stay high) to try and cut out the hopeless long balls the players often resort to.
My question is, what can I do to improve the tactic to allow for more consistency, without sacrificing the free flowing attacking football that it can often bring? I found that playing a straight 4-4-2, the team is a little too rigid, and I don't like diamond midfields at all. Is there anything I can do, or should I revert back to a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1?
