Hey Guys,
I've seen lots of different formations and tactics round but not much in the form of 442. Is it just too difficult to play well consistently with this formation? Does anyone have any good tactics for team and players I could look at as I'm keen to try this formation with more success than I have at the moment.

I suppose it could be people want to make their own shapes etc as the 4-4-2 just seems 'samey'.

It's certainly the way I feel - the closest I have gone to a proper 4-4-2 in my years of playing is a 4-1-3-2 - although I do personally prefer a 5 man midfield.
