this isnt a complaint its a request for an exlanation how can you play a player out of position and he still perform? for example in one of my games i had henry play against me on the left wing, during the game they moved things around and played van persie on the left wing, as most people will know they are strikers not wingers yet both achieved 8 ratings. it has happened dms in back four etc so is there an exlanation?
Whereever you Henry or Van Persie they have their skills intact and both of them have the attributes required to play well out wide. Henry was actually seen as a winger before joining Arsenal from Juventus. So it's completely realistic that they can get good ratings out of there. Still, you should consider yourself a lucky man that their idiot manager don't play them up front where they belong.
As long as a player has the necessary attributes to perform well for the role you have designated for that position, he will be able to play there. Whether or not he will get an 8 is another matter. But I have used midfielders as strikers and attacking MCs as sweepers as well...when times were tough and injuries were high

Not realistic imo. IRL, a striker with good heading, jumping and tackling doesn't mean he can play as a defender because he is not accustomed to playing there, and putting him there has a likely chance that he will make mistakes. But the match engine doesn't really take it into account I suppose?
Chris Sutton, John Harkness, Dion Dublin, and how about Didier Drogbas defending last season? It can be done. If I had a striker with 16 pace 16 heading 15 positioning 15 decisions 15 anticipation I would play him at CB if circumstances permit

I said if the player has the necessary attributes to play well there he could get a 7, I didn't say it should be IRL, this is a game. And I do have some strange players in the game I've trained who do have good marking and are strikers.
As England manager in FM2007, I got to my (and since 66 the countries) first world cup final but had a defensive crisis, so played Gerrard as CB against Spain (top onternational team in the ranking), we won 1-0 with Gerrard getting an 8 iirc
its realistic when a team is defending a lead, everyone gets behind the ball and acts as defenders/dm's i put all my defence as sweepers and my 4 midfielders as defendes, left the strikers up top and beat chelsea 3-0 with most players getting 8's and more
