What I mean by the title is, how do you guys find players who have an asking price of like below £500,000 or who have no asking price whatsoever, and can be gotten free.

I see loads (not so many lately, so maybe they're still looking in FM08) of posts where people say "Oh I got this guy and this guy for free, then I sold them again for like 1 million", or they "ended up as my star player" etc.

My question is, How do you go about searching effectively for such types of players? I would love for some cheap premiership-quality players, or even players who are effective subs/temp players. Can anybody help me by explaining to me how you go about it?

You cant do what you're suggesting mate. Many of the players who you've read about are known by people and are recognised as good prospects in real life. So they look them up in the game and go from there.

What you CAN do is ask your scouts to search for players who've got a certain value. But thats obviously not their asking price. To do what you're suggesting, you'll have to wait for a programme called Genie Scout until its released. But beware because many people look upon using it as cheating!
