Cheap solid keeper in 2010 for Spanish 2nd division
Hi mates,
I am from Brazil and started unemployed in 2007/2008.
There I took my team from sunny city of Natal, ABC, from 3rd Division to 1st in two seasons (3rd place in 3rd then squeezing in 4th to 1st).
Funny thing is that ABC in real life just got promoted to 2nd in Brazil as well.
I wanted a new challenge so I resigned after going to top flight and accepted an invitation from Real Sociedad which was struggling in 2nd Division of Spain (7th place and it was considered a promotion contender).
The team is interesting, we're in 2010, but my lack of deep knowlege on goalkeepers available in Europe is taking its toll.
I have a young keeper, Riesgo, who is decent, but the team really needs a solid barrier at the back since the roster is very attack-oriented.
Tried to go for the usual goalies and the ones I know, without success. Most of the gems are already too expensive in the 3rd season for my transfer and wage budgets.
I have up to 8 million euros to spend on this goalie - he will be my second transfer, just got a RD who worked with me in Brazil - and the board will allow me to spend up to 64k euros per month in his wages.
I went for many South American and Mexican keepers such as Saja (brilliant in real life), Alamo and Bossio but so far so bad...
Amazingly, these players prefer to stay at Mexican and Argentinean League and don't feel attracted by Spanish 2nd Division even when I double their wages.
I went for Eastern European keepers as well like an Estonian one (forgot his name) and the Russian captain of Dinamo Moscow, and nothing.
Tried to persuade 40-year old Lehmann but couldn't (and this was an act of desperation).
Now I have two days left in the transfer window and no goalie interested in coming to beautiful San Sebastian.
To sum up, my research has been targeted either at:
GK, preferably over 25, handling/reflexes/one-on-one the key technical attributes (15 and up), good positioning, decent composure.
Young GK with great stats and/or potential to develop quickly under excellent GK/youngster coach.
Any help is welcome!
Cheers,
Tele

Cheap solid keeper in 2010 for Spanish 2nd division Post #2
I tried Enyeama but he's worth 12.7 million in my game, and earns 210k per month, playing in Blackburn's first team.
Schmeichel plays for Derby and although he's worth 8.7 million, his wages under a new contract are 110k per month and he's tagged indispensable for the club.
Both are great keepers, but a bit beyond my reach as it seems.
Did anyone come across a bargain keeper for less than 8 million euros and with wages below 64k per month?
Cheers,

One of the things I still have to learn is how to spot good regens ...
I got a Brazilian keeper, Bosco, he's 35 but I hope he can help me for this season at least.
Looks pretty solid as the guy in real life has been. But in real life he's been for some years as backup to Rogerio Ceni in Sao Paulo, so let's see how he goes.
I'll let you guys know - Bosco might still be a steal in the game as I'm bringing him in 2010.
